Sight-seeing in Korea

Over the last week and a half we have gotten the chance to see many things...

Last Sunday we saw Keumsan Buddhist temple and
Jeonju Hanok Village near the city where we had orientation.

The Hanok Village shows traditional Korean life and houses.  While at
the village we saw a dancing ceremony where we were invited to
join in the dancing!

At the temple Jesse got to enjoy one of his favorite treats...ICE CREAM!

On Thursdya we left our orientation and traveled 4 hours to our new home, Bonghwa (I will tell you more about Bonghwa later!)

This weekend Jesse's co-teacher, Mr. Kim, took us hiking up one of Bonghwa's famous mountains, Cheongnyang Mnt.  As Mr. Kim would say,
                                                               "It is beyond description."

We made it to Korea!

We arrived at the Incheon airport Wednesday, August 18th at 5:30am in the morning.  After getting all our luggage (a huge relief nothing got lost!) we boarded a bus and arrived at our new home for the next week, Jeonju University.
Our Dorm Room

Jesse's First Korean Hot Dog
During our bus ride we were able to see the Yellow Sea, along with lots of hills and trees.  Our first lunch in Korea was very spicy.  I was relieved that our dinner and breakfast didn't make my mouth feel like it was on fire!  Kimchi has made it's appearance at every meal...

Things have been going as smoothly as we could have hoped for and the Dorm room we are staying in is very nice and clean.  Since it is hot and muggy in Korea we are also happy for the air conditioned room :)

We are excited to finally get settled into our apartment and
see the area we will living over the next year.
We will see what adventures God has waiting for us!
