"Wangling" through the Tetons

Mom and Dad (Barry) "wangled" their way to the Tetons this past week to enjoy the sites, animals, and activites offered around the Tetons...and oh yah, visit us!

I don't know how they felt after their vacation, but they wore us out.  We packed our days full of adventures, and activites...enjoying the perks we recieve as workers here at Colter Bay.

Monday morning we enjoyed a hike around Colter Bay.  Afterwards, we ate a lunch by the lake before heading off in tandom kayaks to exlore the islands around us and participate in some old fashioned kayak races.  Guess who won?  ...I think Mom was slowing Dad down :)

That evening we enjoyed a wagon ride dinner and learned of mom's life-long dream to go horseback riding, which led to planning
Tuesday morning's activity.

Tuesday morning Mom and I went horseback riding and saw a black bear and baby on our way to the corrals, while Jesse and Dad saw 5 bald eagles, fish, and possibly an otter while rafting/kayaking down the Snake River!  That afternoon we headed  into the town of Jackson, making a stop at Menor's Ferry along the way, to enjoy      some fine dining at the "Merry Piglet" and do some window shopping.
Too bad you can't see the
moose and babies!

Wednesday, Mom and Dad went to Yellowstone while Jesse and I resigned to working for the day and met up with them that evening to enjoy dinner at "Leaks Marina."

Thursday Mom, Jesse, and I, got up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains and enjoyed the company of a moose and her two babies.  We later said our goodbyes over some donuts and breakfast sandwiches at the general store (which mom may or may not have tried to steal :)  Being sad that the family vacation ended far too quickly, Jesse and I drowned our sorrows floating around string lake in our raft while Mom and Dad started their journey back to Nebraska!
